Friends come in all shapes and sizes…

fsj

Hi there!  It’s good to be back.  What a mad week I’ve had…preparing for our holiday and also picking up, and shopping for, my daughter’s new horse!   Not exactly good timing, but some things are meant to be I guess.  This is the last card I will be posting before we go on holiday…..BUT…..I will be having two ’SWEET SUGAR BLOG CANDIES’ while I am away :)   I’ve been busy stocking up with blog candy stamps from Funky Kits…..and I also plan to have some regular Sugar Nellie giveaways when I get back.

So….. here’s my Friday Sketchers card.  Jeanette is our host today and what a great sketch she has designed for you.  Thank you so much Jeanette.  Simon Says Stamp is kindly sponsoring us again this week and we have two of SSS fabulous stamp sets for one lucky person.fsj2  I masked Brunte and did a quick blast with the compressor to fill in some of the white cardstock.  I painted the hooves with Gold Glimmer Shimmerz (I think this is one of my favourite colours), this paint is amazing and really effective.   Quixotic Paperie is now stocking these super duper paints and more colours are already on the way.  Kim, who is also on the DT for Quixotic Paperie, is an absolute pro with Shimmerz…..have a look at her cards and creations for some  ideas on how to use the paints.  Elaine has also been having a play and painted some grey hair on an image called ‘Darn It’……they really are so versatile.  I can see I’m going to be hooked!

Hello, back bright and early today with my Stamp With Fun creation. swfp1 The theme this week is PEARLS.  I decided to ‘pimp’ up a sweet tin and dug out some ‘vintage’ Doodlebug papers…I thought the colours were just right for this gorgeous Manga girl from Sugar Nellie.  The pink and white pearls are from Quixotic Paperie…and with so many in one packet, you’re guaranteed to have plenty for lots of projects!  Talking of Quixotic Paperie, Elaine has just added some wonderful new charms to the shop, including some really great Halloween themes…..I’m loving the bat and ghost charms!  New animals from Whimsy stamps have arrived along with some wonderful stamps from Paper Makeup…there are some great sentiment stamps…the fairies are just so sweet and the monster stamps are perfect for little boys :)

I made this card with Gayle’s sketch over at The Sugar Bowl. I used a new EK Success border punch (thanks to Claudia) and some papers from the Basic Grey Lemonade pack.  Background is airbrushed.  I also included the optional extra of ribbon and a bow :D

Gorjuss Summer…

gg

Just decided to ink up another Gorjuss Girl…and thought I’d have a change and do some distressed edges.  I’m such a neat and tidy person by nature, that it’s really hard for me to bend and rip the edges of my precious papers…..haha…..and the mess…..wow…….I think I’ll be stitching my next card!  The lollipop flowers were great fun to make…thanks to the fabulous tutorial over at The Next Level.  Not only did I bend and distress these circles, but also soaked them in pearl Glimmer Mist…I don’t know what ended up more distressed, me or the flowers………..lol!

I’ve airbrused around the sweet Gorjuss Girl….not too sure of her name….and coloured her with Copics.  I added some stardust glitter by her feet.  Thanks for popping by today…I’ll be back tomorrow with my Friday Sketchers card :D

Today over at Old Magonlia, Jacqueline has chosen this Tilda for our weekly challenge.  She is from the Good Fortune Collection that was released earlier this year.  I used the new Junebug papers from Basic Grey and also inked up Tilda’s basket for the first time!  I think by covering the clover with flowersoft, it makes this Tilda a bit more useable for other things…rather than for just good luck.
