This is a very quick post because I really should be in bed….we leave so early in the morning to travel to the airport. Two sweet summery cards…the first one Tilda with ‘pink’ lilacs and the second one is a cute bug butterfly from alota Rubber Stamps which has been cut out twice and layered to give dimension. Lots of sparkly stardust on both of them! Hope you have a great few weeks…….and if you’re going on holiday too, have a fabulous time!!! See you soon…………….

Wow…we’re on week eleven at Friday Sketchers, where has that time gone to? We’ve had so many gorgeous sketches already and this week, it’s the turn of Claudia (Pretty Pressings) from the USA to host the sketch. Claudia suggested a long card which made a change for me because I nearly always make square cards. Top marks for this sketch Claudia…really loved it…so easy to follow. alota Rubber Stamps have kindly sponsored this weeks challenge, so please have a look over at Friday Sketchers for more details of the prize that has been donated and to see some fabulous creations from the design team. Click on the alota link to got directly to their shop……..there is an amazing selection of stamps to choose from!
For my long card, I used My Sweet Lili, Sarah Kay stamp…just love her cute face and gorgeous dress. Lili and teddy have been coloured with copics, papers are DCWV nursery stack, quickutz scalloped border (as recommended by the lovely Fran…who is always tempting me with stamps and other crafty things on her blog,), prima flowers and pearls from stash.
I’m glad to see that my blogging friend Tina is back on the scene. Tina has been through quite a lot over the past couple of months and I’m so pleased that she is feeling brighter and up to making cards again. It’s great to be visiting her blog again and gaze with wonder at her fabulous cards. She does the most beautiful colouring with SU reinkers…I could do with some lessons Tina……….!!!
Tina’s blog candy - I had a look on Tina’s blog before I left home this morning and discovered that she has some amazing blog candy to give away. She is celebrating 5,000 hits and has two different packs of candy which include a sugar nellie stamp in each…………how very generous…..have a look at Tina’s blog for more information!!!
When I read a few weeks ago that Claudia was selling her cards, I couldn’t resist asking her if I could buy some……..they arrived yesterday and I was so excited opening the packet! Here’s a picture of the works of art that I have bought……….some of my absolute favourites………..how did you know Claudia? I have to say how stunning they are in real life, sometimes the camera just doesn’t quite catch little details…….It’s a strange feeling having them here after seeing them on Claudia’s blog!!! Thanks my friend for letting me buy these……….I will look after them, don’t worry! Click on the picture to enlarge and see Clauda’s Pretty Pressings blog for more wonderful cards to drool over!

I really like this card…it’s not often I say that about my cards! I had some time last night to play and came up with this. I love the alota background image (Item description - Country M-036)…I’ve had it for a while and bought it after seeing a card made by Claudia with it. It was a stunning card, as Claudia’s always are, and I really wanted to try to come up with something different……sometimes it’s really hard to get an image out of your head! Anyway, I coloured both the alota background and Tilda, after cutting her out, with copics and added stardust glitter. Sentiment is from hero arts. Thanks for looking and have a great day. I’m off to do some serious packing now!

My daughter has been making a cake today with her friend so I escaped to make a card while they baked! This card is for Katie’s friends birthday tomorrow… I am so behind at the moment, I need more hours in the day right now! I used a Penny Black stamp and paper is BG Euphoria. The cake turned out really well, lots of chocolate everywhere…and they even left the kitchen tidy!

This weeks challenge over at Penny Black Saturday is a sketch…and it’s a great one to try. I used the boating hedgehogs…had it ages and it’s the first time I’ve used it! I used a cuttlebug folder for one of the panels, coloured with copics and added stardust to the sea. The little boat on the ribbon is from alota and the sentiment stamp is from cuddly buddly. Thanks for looking and taking the time to stop by!

Well, it’s been a lovely sunny day here today…great weather for a change! Unfortunately for me, I had lots of indoor jobs that needed doing and didn’t get to see much of the sun ;-( I did find time to have a play in my craft room though and this is what I came up with. I had no idea what I was going to make until I sat down and looked at my Magnolia stamps……….it all came together in the end and I think Tilda and Edwin look quite cute together.
Magnolia stamps - Tilda and Edwin. alota Rubber Stamps - Sofa. Paper - BG. Cuttlebug corners. Brads from stash. Coloured with copics and highlighted with stardust. TFL

I received a wonderful e-mail yesterday, from Helene, at altoa Rubber Stamps, asking me if I would like to join her design team. It was such a lovely surprise and of course I was delighted do accept her offer! I first heard of alota back in April, after reading a post on Clauda’s (Pretty Pressings) blog. She had just been invited to be on Helene’s design team and posted some gorgeous pictures of some of the stamps available. After seeing more of her cards with alota stamps, I placed my first order and have placed quite a few since! The great thing about some of the stamps, is that they work so well with the Magnolia stamps and of course, are perfect to use on their own, as I have done with the new home card above. You can get an idea how large the stamp is…….the card is 6″x6″. So I am really looking forward to working with Helene and her other design team members. Pop over to alota and check out the stamps……………there are soooo many to choose from…….you’ll be there quite a while!!!

I’ve just noticed that Andrea has some Magnolia blog candy to give away…I think this includes some stamps from the summer kit……..check out her blog for more details.
The second challenge at Crafty Monkeys is now up and they have a great prize on offer. This challenge blog is for children under the age of 16……..so, with the summer holidays not far off, why not pop over and get your children crafting!
